Today we take it back 6 years to the very first APJ boxing tournament held at the legendary Stitzel Field in Poughkeepsie, NY. Some 500 boxing fans turned out for the occasion. There were 10 bouts at Stitzel Field, which was Riverview Field in 1949 when boxing legend Sugar Ray Robinson fought an exhibition bout there.
